Birds with my new Tamron 150-600mm Lens

I recently purchased the Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens for bird photography. As much as I like my Nikon 70-300mm lens, it just doesn't have the extra reach I desire.

I took these photos today (9 January 2015). I listed the EXIF information below each photo. Also, all of these were hand-held, although I was sitting in a chair and proping my left arm on the arm rest for support for some of these shots.

So far I'm pleased with the lens, although it's very heavy to hold.

I think this is a great lens for bird photography.

Monica, we talked about a week ago about these lenses. I still haven't decided which one to buy - the Tamron or the Nikon. Have a question. How did you get a 6000mm of some on these images?
