Today Tony and I drove to the Conowingo dam (located on the Susquehanna River near the town of Conowingo, MD) so I could photograph bald eagles. This is a place that many photographers visit. It's about an hour, 40 minute drive from where we live.
I've been wanting a longer zoom lens for a while, and after today (I used my Nikon D7000 and Nikon 70-300mm lens), I DEFINITELY want a longer zoom. Most likely it will be the new Tamron 150-600mm lens.
These shots are not perfect (and they are cropped), as most of the birds were quite far away, but I was thrilled to be able to see these incredible birds and photograph them. There were probably a dozen or so of them, along with other types of birds.
Not quite in focus, I did capture this bald eagle plucking a fish out of the water.
I'm looking forward to going back once I get my new lens.
